Veronica Quilligan - Director

Veronica was Resident Assistant Director at the Finborough Theatre from September to December 2011 as part of a placement through the Birkbeck University MFA in Theatre Directing course. During her placement, she was Assistant Director on Perchance to Dream, Drama at Irish and Foxfinder (2011).

Directing includes: The Words Upon The Windowpane (Phoenix Theatre, Leicester). As Assistant Director, theatre includes The Way of the World and Measure for Measure (LAMDA)

She began her career as an actor making her debut at the Royal Court Theatre in A Pagan Place for which she won the Plays and Players Most Promising Newcomer Award. She went on to appear in The Way of the World, Romeo and Juliet, The Tempest, Spring Awakening, Other Rooms Other Voices (National Theatre, London) Dancing at Lughnasa (Phoenix Theatre and Garrick Theatre), The Key Tag, From Cockney to Toffs, The School Leaver (Royal Court Theatre), Looking At You Revived, Please Shine Down On Me Again, Zigomania, Loved (Bush Theatre), Salome (Gate Theatre and Riverside) The Riot Act, High Time (Field Day Theatre Company, Derry), Faith Healer (Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh), Colours (Abbey Theatre, Dublin) and Rosmersholm (Almeida Theatre).

Film includes: My Zinc Bed, Momento Mori, The Wildcats of St Trinians, Call At Corazon, Angel, The Lonely Passion of Judith Hearne, Hostage and Maria’s Song.

Television Includes: Peak Practice, Rough Justice, The Wild Duck, City Sugar, The Vanishing Army, Tears Before Bedtime, Red Shift and The History Man.

This is the company’s first trip to the Camden Fringe, though they are no strangers to the West End, having provided digital content and media management for the last three years for shows including Priscilla, Queen of the Desert and Singing in the Rain as well as working with the Really Useful Group, Dewynters, Back Row Productions and Nullarbor Productions.

Their online romantic comedy series The London Affair received over 2 million viewers when it premiered online and this year has been turned into a television pilot. Grass Roots Media’s productions have been screened on the BBC and at Palm Springs International Film Festival, Tres Court Film Festival, Comedy Shorts Film Festival, Heart of Gold Festival, Shorts Showcase, Seoul International's Extreme-Short Image Film Festival, Cinema Society of San Diego's prestigious Evening of Award Winning Short Films and the Dam Short Film Festival.
